You can walk for 2 days and not see everything. Don't expect to get a fantastic antique bargain but you will find something. You just need to look. Try the English Church in Rue Watteau for tea and homemade cakes for something different.

If you happen to be in the North of France, first weekend of September, the Braderie is worth a visit. Lille is a beautiful town. The old city resembles Ansterdam. Immense flea market with some good finds, if you are in a mood to shop....More

Reading the latest Braderie reviews I was disappointed for the lady who went on a day's coach trip and found only commercial tat. While there certainly is an element of that in the Braderie weekend, I assume someone with limited time and knowledge of Lille...More

10,000 sellers, 100 kilometers of stalls.... stamina needed! But this annual event (taking place on the weekend of the first Sunday in September) is a bargain-hunter's paradise. I go every year. A amazing 'buzz' in this lovely city, a very crime-free huge crowd (in my experience,...More

Having been at Uni in Lille, I know the town very well and I have been to a few Braderie in the past. It is still great fun but the commercial side has changed as we see more and more pro sellers than "car boot...More

Being an antique collector this was a much looked forward to visit of the Lille Braderie. What a disappointment. The majority of the goods were on a par with the rubbish to be found in cheap pound shops and even the 'antiques' were of poor...More

Just returned from my third visit to this unique annual event. First time I had stayed for both days (Saturday/Sunday). Would recommend Saturday as the better day. Both days get incredibly crowded in the afternoon (crowds at a standstill in places!) but streets were messy...More

the best is to park close to the lines of the metro, out of the city center (parkings Porte des Postes, Porte d’Arras et Porte de Valenciennes, Saint-Philibert, Cité Scientifique et 4 Cantons ) because driving downtown is not allowed that weekend. For 4,70 €...More
