I had been here many years ago and I don't know whether the museum was enhanced or I just didn't recall but it is now very interesting. In addition to seeing the tapestry which is an incredible work of art there is a very informative description of the history and what is woven.

The tapestry has been described by many reviewers, so I won't repeat, however, this is NOT boring history. The tapestry is an unique book "written" in pictorial format. Perfect for the ignorant, illiterate folk of the eleventh century. The audio guide does a good job, but I found myself fighting with the player trying to re-play some of the better... More

This tapestry is a great piece of history that tells a long and in depth story of France. It's also pretty boring if you aren't much of a historian. I genuinely think that if you are looking for somewhere to take kids...avoid. However, if you are a couple or have an interest in history then you should definitely pop in

We booked a one night stay in Bayeux for a D-Day tour and wound up with a little extra time to kill during our visit. We stumbled upon the Bayeux Tapestry Museum and spent a little over an hour learning about the tapestry and it's deep roots in Normandy. It was very interesting and we learned a lot about the... This museum has only 1 piece! It's a 70 meter tapestry that tells the story of William the conquer. Make sure you get an Audio Player. This will w plain the tapestry in great detail! If you love history this is a must see!!!!

This comes with a detailed audio tour in multiple languages. It goes through every panel in the tapestry with a detailed story that still moves along. There is an extensive gift shop but the tapestry pieces they sell are very expensive in quality and price. I wish they offered something of a little less quality and price.

We went late in the day but still enjoyed! The tapestry and history are well worth it. Plan on at least 2 hours!

This is an amazing art piece that tells a story and is an example of beautiful needlework. I was not aware this this existed until we were planning to go to Bayeux to see the Normandy D-day beaches and am very glad that we went to see it. It is not something you will ever see anywhere else and I... More

We didn't have much time to sight-see in Bayeux, as we were intent on getting to the World War II beaches. However, this is a must-see and for me was a highlight of our trip. The museum has the tapestry displayed in a huge long glass case, so is easily visible. There are also audio tour guides available at no... More

An not-to-be-missed experience in Bayeux. Allow 30 minutes to see the tapestry, using the audio guide, and another 60-90 minutes for the wonderful exhibits.
