If you are driving to Normandy from Paris, this museum is an ideal first stop. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. They have a large parking lot and an expansive facility. The museum is built atop a former German bunker/command center for the area (which...More

This wartime museum, although smaller than the one in New Orleans was very well done. The display about the beginnings and socio economic events that brought on the war were especially good. The Shoah material as in all good wartime places was very moving especially...More

We are history buffs and think this museum put world events from ww1 to present on perspective. It was a wonderful prequel to visiting the d-day beaches. We spent four hours the day before our visit to the beaches and three more hours the day...More

We had only a couple hours before heading back to Paris to catch our flight. This museum was easy to find. We arrived at 0900 when it opened, which turned out to be a good thing. After visiting the beaches, cemeteries, and various holocaust locations...More

Sorry not sure about port. I took train from Paris, stops in Caen where the World War museum is. Then you travel on train to Bayeux where you take tour to visit Memorial and Beaches.
