Wondered what this building was so wandered in for a look around. It is a big library and theatre stage, amazing for the locals with some people just sat around reading in quiet areas. The cafe was also good value for snacks and coffee

A modern French town where the Seine River meets the English Channel. Le Havre was almost completely destroyed during WW11 and has been rebuilt as a beautiful modern city with just touches of the few historic buildings that have remained. It is an architects’ town...More

Like a volcano rising from the pavement this curved building designed by Oscar Niemeyer houses the national stage and a huge media library. There is a modern hand sculpture and water feature on one side

Such a cool building. Really helpful tourism staff. Nice to walk around this structure. Different levels.

The Volcan, also known as the yogurt pot, is an amazing architecture by Oscar Niemeyer. It looks so out of place in the straight lines of Le Havre's Perret. Inside is an incredible public library and a really nice restaurant.

Strange building - finally reaching the end of its renovations and changes - Starting to look very good and back as an iconic building to see

A unique construction but a must see all the same. It does stand out on the landscape but we are glad we went to see it !

I passed this by several times. You can get a great shot of this on the bridge. I never went in but it is a unique looking architecture.

We did not go inside as it does not look like there is much internally. The architecture itself is quite intriguing and the sculpture on the side (a hand and water) is very nice.
