Went on a Monday morning in April. We couldn't do the course tour as the circuit was being prepared for the 24 motorbike race the following weekend which was a bit of a Boo. However, the museum has lots of memorabilia. Well worth a visit. Really interesting. €8 to get in and most labels were in English and French. Would... More

Visited the museum today and I can't rate it high enough . Easy access . Good parking. Good value .Allow at least three hours. The exhibits are stunning and very well presented you can get really close to real racing history and heritage but the small personal items make the overall experience greater than the sum of the parts. Not... More

Great little place to view bikes and cars of all shapes and sizes. Little look into the history of them. Past circuit winners, and just a bonus visit to include while we were at the motogp race. We enjoyed this museum.

We had a few hours extra and decided to stop into the Le Mans Museum. Lots of cars from current all the way to the first ones to race. Cool history with each car/driver. We then walked to the track, which was close, I wish they had a ride along to show you the track but that wasn't an option.... More

The Museum houses past winners of the Le Mans 34 hours race and some old historical cars. It also gives a comprehensive history of the Automobile development and Le Mans 24 hour race. One is able to be very close to the cars. For a 10 Euro ticket you can also visit the circuit. Not to be missed if one... More

Went there a little off season. Not much of a car enthusiast so no expert opinion. Somewhat uninspiring museum. No view on race track... good to kill a few hours

We visited the Museum during the week of the 24hr race and I have to say I was impressed. If you need any history of this race then I recommend going here it is well laid out and easy to navigate around. I would pencil in a good few hours to go around this. Easy to find as it's at... More

I really enjoyed my visit and I took over 200 photos. Only problem was when I arrived for the advertised opening time of 10am I had to wait for an hour as from October onwards it doesn't open until 11am.

Bonjour many thanks for your visit and your message as well It seems that you have been misinformed since the opening hours in October has always been 11AM since the last 9 years Best racing regards from Le Mans Le Musée More

This is a rather understated collection of vehicles of various kinds. There are cars that have raced in the 24hour race alongside a selection of other historic vehicles with an understandable emphasis on French marques. As you walk round I think it would be fair to say that it is under curated but that does add a certain charm. The... More

Bonjour Nigel many thanks for your visit and your message as well For your information in the early 20's and 30's many french cars won the race (Chenard & Walcker, Lorrain Dietrich, Bugatti, Delahaye, Talbo Lago) Moreover, a large part of the museography is dedicated to a local industrial pionniers The Bollée family hence your impression Best racing regards from...
