I couldn't rave more about this place. It's the best natural history museum I've ever been to. It's got such a great collection of fossils, stuffed animals and the piece de resistance: the ants. We spent hours just watching them and our girls couldn't get enough of the whole set up. They're desperate for us to have an ant farm... More

Really good museum. Downstairs has a great ant farm with short, interesting info boards and videos. Really nice rocks and minerals display too. Upstairs has the usual glass cases of stuffed animals which is normal for nat history museums the world over. Which I'd spent another hour here rather than washing time and money over the river at Le machines... More

This museum is fantastic, especially the ants and live snakes. The skeletons are also really interesting and very innovative. Very reasonably priced and children are free.

This is a really cool museum that is quite cheap considering - it has a lot of exhibits with animals, dinosaurs and geology that really stick in my mind. Staff were really friendly and spoke some English. You need to set aside about two hours here to enjoy the museum. The museum is quite popular with locals as well. I... More

It was good to have something to visit on a wet Sunday afternoon as most other places were cl;osed. The exhibition is rather extensive for the size of the building.

We visited the Natural History museum in Nantes and it was a very interesting museum. It's not too big so you can spend an interesting couple of hours wandering around looking at the exhibits. I particularly liked the exhibit about the development of dinosaurs to birds 'Plumes de dinosaure' with some amazing fossils that clearly show the feathers on the... More

A really pleasant surprise. There were a number of different sections: geology (rocks), dinosaurs, snakes, the map of species. All small enough to keep the interest: all well enough laid out to make it a couple of hours well spent.

We came across this place while walking the green line and having a look around the city, there was nobody else there when we visited and it was so quiet compared to everywhere else we have visited. they have a huge collection of rocks from all around the world and a great collection of fossils and bones. they also have...
