Very well presented carvings of some well known and some less well known churches and other local buildings of note. A pleasant interlude if in Saumur as quite close. Continue along the Loire towards Angers to see some lovely villages and views.

great experience with loads of information in English as well - we bought our ticket when we visited the mushroom caves nextdoor. The young girl in the ticket office was very helpful and interested in where we were from.

The person carved local stones and recreated local architectural beauties. I really enjoyed the lighting provided to the works. It gives life and a special mood to these beauties. Amazing really!

Wonderfully different- stone carvings some on blocks some directly into the cave walls of the various churches and chateau around the area. They state take an hour to visit but I'd be surprised you would need that long. But still definitely worth going. Combine with...More

We visited this museum and another one (mushroom museum) which have apparently the same owner and you can buy reduced tickets if you visit both. The artist is very talented and used the local limestone ("tuffeau") to create several castles and monuments in details. The...More

An interesting visit that shows what can be done with a little imagination and a lot of skill. But I would not waste my money buying a "duel" ticket for a visit to the Museé de champignon
