It's a really whimsical building and reminds me of so many films and stories I've read. Really captures the imagination. The roof is beautiful, but you must be ok with heights to enjoy it fully.

Visited here as we had both been to Barcelona previously and felt that we had exhausted the Sagrada Familia. Tickets were expensive and we chose to buy ours online as they offer a small discount for a selected time period. We received a token for a free photo. Yes the photo was free to take but you have to buy the picture or magnet. Anyway we walked leisurely around the apartments of the Pedrera and the roof. It was enjoyable but not wholly necessary to do in Barcelona. Go to Park Guell instead to see more of Gaudi’s work.

During our holiday we visited 3 Gaudi houses ( Casa Vicens and Casa Batlló) This was my favourite. Perhaps not as decorative as Casa Batlló but it is much more spacious which lends itself to a more pleasant visit and it has the most amazing roof. It’s worth going just to see the roof! The audio visual presentations in the attic space under the roof are excellent and are informative about Barcelona’s social history as well as the house itself. The audio guide is the best we’ve encountered. No pressing numbers it just syncs with the area you are looking at - clever ! We had booked in advance , on line while still at home. The queue wasn’t as bad as Casa Batlló but all these houses are entry at a certain time so best to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Barcelona as said is full of Antoni Gaudi’s creations. It is a wonderful building built on the lines of Neo Gothic structures inspired by nature. Those enthusiastic of such architecture will enjoy this side of Barcelona for sure. But those who are not would recommend to them that just pick one Antoni Gaudi monument.
