The area is very pleasant, lots of attractive shops, restaurants and bars in the lovely old buildings. Under less pressure from numbers of people than the seafront area.

We used to walk to the central market along this street, almost free of traffic, watching the passers by and shopkeepers doing their daily rounds.There are bookshops, arty music shops, restaurants, bakers shops, with a range of tempting places to stop and browse.

Apparently they knocked don some sub standard housing in the early '70's to reveal this charming little placette. Probably even nicer in Summer ( if not flooded with tourists) but a great place because it is here that you will discover Le Panier des Crabes....More

A couple of cheap friendly bars and places to eat.Not spectacular but not unpleasant either.Nice places to kill a few hours with a beer or ice cream or just sit and chat

That's all there is, together with the Market area. The rest of the city is not interesting concerning the fact that one travels in France.
