Was looking for things to do and found this on TripAdvisor and decided to have a look with my young family. Adults will pay €12 each and children €8 each. There are two buildings to visit. The first is all about mechanical models from the...More

These two museums, which are close beside each other and can share an entry ticket are an insight and inspiration to model makers and enthusiasts alike. One houses nautical and motor vehicles along with active train layouts, whilst the other holds automatons with lots of...More

Good selection of models. Unfortunately the 'show' was out of order the day we visited. In addition, there was no guide in English which would have been helpful. Price was a little high given. Good parking and close to the city centre.

Any model railway fan will enjoy this, I certainly did. Shame the railway outside no longer runs and the model boat show is different but could be a little more animated. I would go again for the wonderful train layouts and tell anyone else interested...More

If you love all things cute and tiny, you will love these two museums. I always take visiting friends here. It is definitely a well preserved, and not often spoken of, part of history

Found myself like I was a kid when I visited the museums and my 4 year old son really enjoyed it too. A great family activity. Really worth paying a visit when you are in La Rochelle.

Well worth a quick visit to look at old time automated toys and models used in advertising and decorations. Quirky.

I was surprised by the size of the museum. The automats are old but that is why they are in museum.... Slightly interactive where you have to push buttons to start the different automays to move, could be good for people with children so that...More

We spent around an hour visiting these two museums with our young children. The museums are very old school and our (clearly spoilt) children were bemused by many of the toys on display. Limited interactivity but kept their attention for around an hour.
