These towers are from the Middle Ages and they were built to ensure the safety of La Rochelle as a harbour town. They look amazing and very different from each other, and they've served different functions over the years, from housing royals in Medieval times...More

There are lots of steps to climb and narrow spaces, but the exhibits are fascinating and the views from the top and worth the climb.

This is an absolute must when in La Rochelle. Great skyline and surrounded by restaurants and bars. It just creates a lovely atmosphere. Too many pictures to post them all. Go see for yourself you will not be disappointed.

Compared to all the other fabulous medieval towns we have visited in France, La Rochelle is less dramatic. A nice place to visit but would not be on my recommended list. The towers are small and the town is interesting but not special in any...More

The towers are understandably the main feature of La Rochelle but there isn’t much to see within them. They have historic importance but a lot of it was empty rooms, especially in Tour de la Chaîne. It isn’t made clear how many stairs there are...More

The towers are such a landmark. Learning the history of this remarkable place is a must. It's beautiful but it's so much more!
