This beautiful old cathedral in the heart of the City. Surrounded by shops, bars and the old city itself. It is not massive but beautiful things come in small packages. This is one of them. A real delight and a must in Poitiers.

This is a wonderful little church. My favourite of the many churches that I saw during our time in Paris. It oozes atmosphere, dark, musty and packed with interesting artefacts and architecture. Best part of Poitiers by far.

The church has a beautiful and interesting collection of frescos on the North face. The interior is typical romanesque but much of the interior colour and decoration is retained. Particularly beautiful when the sun comes in from the east through the stained glass windows.

Treated Poitiers as a stop-over on route to the South of France from UK and didn't really think much about visiting the local stuff - I mean France is so full of Cathedrals with this special feature and that special feature that you kind of...More

There is little I can add to the enthusiastic reviews for this amazing church with its highly decorated pillars and dome. Look at the folk coming in - their jaws either drop or there are reverential "whows" being uttered. Unmissable.

To see a medieval church still with its interior decoration in tact is so unusual it produces a real wow factor. It reminds us that was what the majority of churches were like before subsequent generations painted them over or demolished them. It’s a truly...More

It is said this cathedral was started in the 12th century by Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine who were perhaps married here... It is very gothic in style and is the largest medieval church in Poitiers. The choir stalls are particularly impressive and are...More

Awesome, oldest church in france, stain glass windows that just blow you away. Make sure it’s a sunny day. Outside of the building, words are not enough. Just go.

Smallish church, externally cleaned up but a lot of the pillars inside still have the original paint work. The stained glass is beautiful and clearly depicts their stories.
