it's worth the walk uphill , it completes the visit to Paul Cézanne's atelier. Copies of his paintings on the mountain St Victoire are placed in the park facing the real mountain. Access by bus too.

On advice from the Aix Tourist Office we caught a bus out to this pretty little garden. Unfortunately the Montagne Ste Victoire was hazy in the morning sun, but we still enjoyed our brief visit.

This terrace/park is a little further up the road from the Atelier Cezanne, but the timeless view from up there is worth making the detour from downtown Aix. All along the edges of the upper terrace are fixed signs that display the Mont Saint-Victoire series...More

Very nice Mountain View where you see what Cezzane saw once. Nice area to walk around in. Limited parking possibilities. You park down the hill and climb up. Small place and can be visited for maximum 30 min

There's no parking right at it, but don't miss this little park! Follow the arrow on the wall that says Cezanne into the park. There's a great view of Mount Saint Victoire from the base of the park, but the park itself is picturesque and...More

I found this small park to be a lovely spot to look at the view that inspired Cezanne to paint dozens of works focused on Montagne Sainte Victoire. Here, the 3,317-feet-high limestone peak forms a dramatic backdrop to nearby pine trees and the countryside beyond....More

I returned here after 3 years with friends. It's best to view after 9:30 am to see Mt. Ste. Victoire. The signs have been replaced and provide info about Cezannes view of the mountain. It's a small hike up here from town, but we stopped...More

Not so hard to find. There are steps one way or wander in a neighbor and find off Margurite Parkway.

It is a stunning view onto the North face of Ste Victoire mountain. The area is surrounded by villas and roads but it has kept its charm and offers benches and boards with explanations. The walk to reach this spot is totally dull and goes...More

Personally, I enjoyed this park more than seeing Cezanne's atelier. The view of Mount Sainte-Victoire is powerful, especially since it's such an iconic subject of his. And I think of Cezanne more as plein air than studio painter. When we visited (October), we had the...More

Sorry for you... no vast lavender field around Aix. You need to drive at least 40/50 km for that : up to the north flank of the Luberon (Apt-Forcalquier) or between Manosque and the Verdon river (Valensole plateau). You’ll... More
