Part of the 11 Euro ticket you can purchase at the tourism office, otherwise it is an 8 Euro entry price. They have a few paintings from Picasso and the painter the museum is named after. There are also a few modern works of art over the 2 floors of the building.

The art ranges from medieval works to modern (Picasso), with old maps and 20th century photographs. The chateau in which this museum is housed has interesting medieval architecture. The views overlooking the Rhone River are fabulous.

Beautiful museum. Some nice Picasos and the exhibition was well worth going to. It was unexpected to find such a high quality museum of art in such a small town. Was a delightful visit.

This beautifully preserved museum in Arles contains the painting by and collection of Jacques Réattu, housed in his mansion. It also hosts a collection of Picasso works, mostly works on paper (minor), and more important works of his from the 1920s and 30s. The museum has also dedicated itself to contemporary art, some of it in the collection and some... More

This museum has it all; history, old art, modern art and contemporary art! And the best thing is that they have blended it all! No more "age xx-xx", which becomes tiresome after a while. No, between 18th century pieces you may find a photography from 21th or a sculpture made of scrap metal from 20th! And fashion drawings of Christian... More

History of the museum is interesting. But the real treat is viewing the 50+ Picasso paintings as you near the exit.

For a cross sectional glimpse of both historical works esp by Reattu himself through to contemporary multi media work go to the Musee Reattu. Really easy to move through the salles numbering 30 in all over three floors with great vistas on the river, the central courtyard and other areas as you go.

We visited this museum unsure of what we would find but found it an interesting mix of historical and modern exhibits. There was an excellent photographic display, a collection of paintings and a selection of over 50 sketches by Picasso. These sketches were given to the museum in the 1970s by Picasso who spent time in Arles in his earlier... More
