The ancient theatre in Arles operates on the same schedule as the Arena. But it is no luck unlike the latter one. The amphitheater was saved by the transformation into a fortress. But the theater was plundered by locals on stones. All that's left are...More

Only a few parts of this once grand structure remain. Much of the seating area still exists but not much else.

This really is worth a visit. You can see what it must have been like in the Romans time. While the stage wall is not there like it is in Orange, France it still makes fascinating history.

Here’s another place you need to pay to enter but honestly, save your money. We saw so much from just walking around. Good to see so much preserved.

Bought our Liberté Pass to access several sites and museums and visited this one. Apart from the still used audience area, there was little to see. Few information panels.

Great place to feel the history of the last two millenia. Though not as impressive as the theatre in Orange, with its back wall and Augustus statue still intact, this place and Arles itself are charming additions to any itinerary.
