The area is very compelling. We travelled to the coast at Les Sts Maries de Le Mer and enquired at the tourist office where the person in charge suggested visiting the ornithological park. What a gem! Thousands of flamingos and other aquatic birds and animals.We...More

Les Arnelles is located on Route d'Arles D570. We drove there, so I am not sure if there's public transportation going to it. The stables are next to the hotel and they share a driveway. We visited toward the end of December, but we were...More

We took a drive through the park and saw the salty ground (the location is a marshy plain between the Mediterranean Sea and the Rhone River, that experiences high and low tides) with flecks of white sparkling in the brown soil. We saw the famous...More

We went with a friend who had assured us that you always get to see the three core types of wildlife - black bulls, white horses, and especially the flamingoes - and we were not disappointed, seeing many groups of all three as we drove...More

We drove to the coast and then to view the étang. Pleasant country and nice areas to stroll. It's a refreshing change from gritty Arles. We'd recommend allowing 4-5 hours to really see everything.

Went with an elderly group, we all loved it and we're lucky enough to see the flamingoes. We missed the wild flowers, if we had gone a month or so earlier it would have been a glow of purple.
