Doing this tour in february is a great idea. The weather was cool and fresh and it seemed like the two of us were the only tourists around. The actual tour was much more than just wine (and we learnt A LOT) it also gave a great insight into the region in general. The vineyards and wine that we tasted... More

Once in a while you fluke the great pleasure of participating in an education with a professor who loves what he does. Today we had this pleasurable experience with Francois Marcou. A practicing professional of Avignon wine region. For us the opportunity was to travel with Francois f to the very special Chateau Neuf de-Pape wine region. He should us... More

What a fantastic day out. We had the pleasure of spending a full day visiting the wineries of the Chateauneuf du Pape region with the very friendly and informative Francois, the owner and guide of Avignon Wine Tours. He is very knowledgable, highly professional and great company. I have been on many wine tours but have never before walked away with... More

Francois, the guide and owner of Avignon Wine Tours is professional, experienced, full of knowledge of wines and the wine industry with a great sense of humor. We loved our tour and the experience. We visited several wineries with excellent wines. If you want to buy a bottle at the vineyard, it's excellent value but there is no pressure. The... More

We booked this tour on a Rick Steve's recommendation, and it was the most informative wine tour we have ever been on (having travelled through numerous wine regions around the world). We spent the day with David, a French sommelier, who returned home to Avignon after many years working at high-end restaurants around the world. David was a wealth of... More

So we booked Francois for 2 days. His love of the region is infectuous. its really more than a wine tour. Its a great wine tour that celebrates the beauty and culture of the region. You may think you can do this on your own...but you will miss a great experience if you pass up Francois and Avignon Wine Tours.

We just finished a day of wine tasting in the Chateauneuf du Pape region with Francois. We learned a great deal about how French wines are categorized, how to read the label, and most importantly how to taste them. It was both informative and fun. As ours was a Chateauneuf du Pape tour, we learned a lot about this type... More

I have to wholeheartedly agree with all the positive reviews of Francois and Avignon Wine Tours! We were given exceptional care in our transportation needs and winery visits. Prior to our arrival in France four of us agreed to allow Francois to show us the world-renowned region of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. We were treated to many surprises along the way: Wine tasting... More

A day with Francois, on his Avignon Wine Tour tour of Chateauneuf du Pape, was the perfect start to our vacation in France! He picked us at our hotel and introduced us to the beautiful region. Our first stop was a vineyard (field) where we all got out of the van and were taught about the very rocky vineyards that... More

We had a good time with Francois driving around Provence learning about wine. He is passionate about the subject and very knowledgeable. I would have preferred spending a little more time at each of the winerys and having more tastings at each. But being driven around through the beautiful countryside was well worth the time and cost. I'd recommend it... More
