About
Jean de Galimard, Lord of Seranon and related to the Count of Thorenc, lived in Grasse where in 1747 he created the PARFUMERIE GALIMARD. Founder of the corporation of "Glovemakers and Perfumers", he supplied the court of Louis "the well-beloved", King of France, with olive oils, pomades and perfumes, of which he invented the first formulas. Two and a half centuries after its inception by its illustrious founder, continuing its Royal tradition from 1747, the Parfumerie Galimard remains a family owned and operated entreprise. Galimard's contemporary management style allows its creative branch to breathe life and love into its newest perfume masterpeices. Classical in the pursuit of perfection and harmony, Galimard cultivates inoovation and contemporary style to achieve each unique and sublime eternal creation. We invite you to come and share this joy and passion with us : * IN GRASSE : the visit will lead you through our Museum, laboratory and the conditioning rooms where the origin of perfumes can be traced. A thorough explanation of the extraction methods of aromatic raw materials, flowers, plants and aromatic woods is offered. You will also discover the work organ of the "composer" of perfumes, called the "Nose", and some of his secrets will be revealed to you. * IN EZE-VILLAGE : our delightful team will inform and guide you throughout our Perfumery and explain the processes of extraction and fabrication. Stroll and discover our authentic Perfume Museum and our ancient traditional soap factory. Both our establishments offer free guided visits 365 days a year. All our products are priced as factory outlet. * In GRASSE and in EZE-VILLAGE : come and create your own personal perfume! Pioneed and recognized leader in this Art, Galimard opened its Studio des Fragrances in Grasse in 1997 and its Studio des Fragrances in Eze-Villlage in 2007. In our Studio des Fragrances, we invite you to enter the world of personal perfume creation. With the assured knowledge of the Parfumeur, you will embark upon a voyage of personal discovery and emotional freedom in designing a fragrance that is uniquely yours.

After attending the Galimard perfume workshop, we asked if we could join a factory tour. While the tour itself was free, the attitude shown by the tour guide was insulting. Several times, she made rather ill-mannered and unnecessary comments.
When we asked if the tour started at a particular time, she replied with “I know!” without telling us that she was, in fact, the guide. In fact, she then appeared at the time but made us wait on purpose to start the tour late even though it was clear we were waiting to begin.
She displayed a air of self-importance and arrogance throughout, shown clearly when she did not understand a question asked. After asking that the question be repeated, she then criticised the person asking by insisting that the question should have been phrased in a better way!
Perhaps this tour guide acted so out of her nature and was unaware of the demeaning behaviour and bad impression she left, but she stated that she has been working 39 years at the company and should know better!
The tour itself was very brief and below average. Having looked forward to a positive experience in Grasse, and even attended a workshop, this encounter with this particular employee soured an otherwise good day.
We recommend to avoid the Galimard Factory tour in favour of other better organised tours and more respectful tour guides.

Since the reviews were very positive and having participated in a magnificent Signature Workshop, we went with confidence to the Perfume Galimard. Arrived on July 31, 2024 at 12:30, we were two families. The tour lasted just 10 minutes, with no mention of the history of the house. Since 1747, however, there must have been interesting events in the field of perfumery in Grasse. And hop, straight to the basement store where four saleswomen were waiting for us.
We tested the fragrances directly on the skin. Not suspicious, I discovered 8 hours later my right arm covered with pimples and itching that lasted 2 days. Nothing serious in itself, but the squids are designed for that, right? Too bad for us, it was probably not the right day or time. Perhaps I also had too many expectations.
I strongly recommend visiting the Grasse International Perfumery Museum, which is incredibly interesting.

The free guided tour did not last long. We were three interested persons. In a room that looked like a wide hallway, some old equipment from the former perfume manufacturing plant was set up. One employee explained to us, very roughly the process of perfume production. There was a conversation with us, which was good. We were then directed past an area where other employees were mixing something. Our contact noticed that one had a cloth bag from Dior with him and made several negative remarks about their products. Finally, we were taken to a salesroom where she asked us which fragrance we would most like. I already felt pressured to buy something. Sure I could have said no, but the expectation was clear, especially since we were only three customers, especially since my cloth bag was. It would be better to exhibit more objects and then charge admission.

I was talking to a lady the day before the workshop and she told me she’s going to do a workshop at the Galimard perfume shop so I thought why not and I booked a workshop through the phone and I got a free spot for the next day.
I can tell you this was an awesome experience, you going to choose between so many different senses and you are going to create your own perfume with 100 ml.
I love my new Parfume!!

A place to absolutely discover.
Free visit, it must be emphasized.
The welcome is smiling and empathetic.
Visit commented by Véronique, just wonderful, a passionate person who shares her extensive knowledge, very sunny,
We learn lots of things and we get back to basics.
The boutique is magnificently fragrant with a thousand perfumes, the culmination of the visit.
I recommend. A must-have.

We visited today at the end of our holiday, and had pre-booked an English tour with a short workshop at the end. Our tour guide (Veronica) was absolutely lovely. The tour was the perfect amount of information to keep our 2 children (10 and 8) interested but not too much that they got bored. Veronica allowed us to ask questions and took great pride in sharing her knowledge and skills regarding creating perfumes. She then took us downstairs into the shop and spent a considerable amount of time letting us smell all the perfumes, and helping us to understand which scents would be best for us given our likes and dislikes. There was no pressure to buy any, but we couldn’t resist! We bought a Parfum selection pack and the children got shower gels. We then went through to the workshop where we were free to create our own scents using a range of 10 fragrances, with some help and guidance from Veronica. She was so patient with us and was absolutely lovely with our children, who are both so proud of their creations. Including the tour, workshop, and the shopping afterwards, it lasted about 1.5 hours. I can genuinely say it was one of the highlights of our holiday, and would thoroughly recommend.

I took my older teens (19 girl and and 17 boy) to do this. A short train ride from Cannes but a steep walk or €12 taxi from the train station. We each had an “organ” of about 150 scents to mix together as base, heart, and top notes for our individualised perfume, which we got to take 100ml of home and they keep your recipe if you want to order again. All of us really pleased with our creations and since it was definitely not a beach day it was a worthwhile way to spend the afternoon. Even got certificates. Book up in advance though.

Upon arrival, we are looked at as if we were wondering 'what are they doing here?'
Furthermore, very weak explanation from a rude lady! The other couple who took the tour were French speaking and she only spoke to them. We, Belgians, yet also speaking good French, were simply ignored!
The whole point of the tour is just to get you into the shop as soon as possible. And even there they keep you waiting...
Definitely not recommended! Better go to another perfumery where people really like to see you!!!

We, a friend from London and myself, went to Galimard in Grasse for a visit. The visit was in English for this friend. Kevin, our accompanying guide, was exceptional. His listening skills and his detailed explanations were a real pleasure. We were amazed throughout the visit.
A huge thank you to Kevin de Galimard who fully deserves it!

I wasn't overly bothered by a tour but was fascinated to see how I make my own perfume. Decided to plump for just that. The workshop wasn't hugely informative, but to be honest I didn't mind. The person helping did speak English, and the full range of raw materials available to us was brilliant. They help you break down your choices into base, heart and top notes, and I have to say I love my finished fragrance. What isn't mentioned is that you need to pay >€12 if you want a bottle that will spray. You can get a standard dropper bottle for free but I do think paying for a nicer bottle is worth it, and i really wanted a spray option. All in all a lovely few hours with a gorgeous unique gift to take home. What i didn't know is that they keep your perfume on record and then you can order it (along with shower gel and body cream in same fragrance) at any point. Brilliant!

Planning to visit Monte Carlo and Grasse inOct 2015. Is it better to stay in Nice or grasse?
Written July 5, 2015
Bonjour,
I would recommend staying in either Cannes or Nice, as there will be more choices of accomodation. Anywhere on the Riviera can be easily accessed from these 2 cities by car or public transport. Contact us through Galimard website or e-mail if you need more information about our factory tours or perfume creation workshops. Best regards, Delphine, Parfums Galimard
