An interesting place to visit to soak up some of the local atmosphere but the prices are expensive. San Danielle jambon cru for 50 euros per kg when it can be bought at a good butcher's counter in a reasonable supermarket for 35 euros per kg (to give just one example). Can't believe many locals buy their provisions here.

I'm lucky enough to visit Menton a few times a year. We probably spend more time here than anywhere else in town! The market hall is a lovely building. It houses plenty of stalls offering a wide selection of produce, great quality, not always cheap. Highlights - the guy near the eastern entrance who sells loads of varieties of potatoes, onions and garlic, a great character, excellent English; the cheese stalls and meat stalls are all good; great bread stall at the central entrance (NOT the chain Kayser, ugh!). Also beware the organic fruit and veg. stand, outrageous prices! Some of the best, and cheapest, produce is to be had from the local people (esp. the grannies) who set up stall around the outside of the market - local olives, lemons, fresh goats cheese, greens, herbs etc. Wonderful

The old "Les Halles" has been lovingly restored. Inside you will find the full planopy of local produce, fish, meat (raw and cured), cheese and preserves.

Very pretty and picturesque marche' with both French and Italian vendors. Fresh produce, however quite expensive especially if compared to the covered market in Ventimiglia which is larger and cheaper. I recommend Socca, the typical French snack of the region, made of chickpeas and which is sold on the outside of the covered area. The market is closed on Monday, while it's bigger on Saturday with clothes' stalls occupying the adjacent small square on the right of the market if facing the town. It has character and should be visited at least once.

Marche is close to Fossan beach, which is non-smoking and suitable for children. The market is opened every morning and offers a wide choice of fruit, vegetables, dairy and bakery products. It was our polular stop on the way to the beach. It is also good for simple breakfast. You buy what you like eating, a cup of coffee and can sit on Esplanade F.Palmero. From there you can admire the Menton pamorama .

Lovely old style covered farmers market, along the seafront, near the Zone Pietonne. It has been restored on the outside and is quite lovely to see. Wonderful selection of fresh foods, from a wide variety of vendors. Many restaurants adjacent to it.

The building is lovely. A bell epoch dedicated market space.
The outside stalls around the walls feature local stuff and are cheaper.
Inside , the atmosphere is terrific but the goods on offer are top end and pricey.
That said the wine shop and deli are worth the extra cost.
The less flamboyant bread outlet near the Far door has really good patisserie and the cheese shop in the middle aisle has Gorgonzola to die for as well as a huge selection of local fromage.
Do have a drink with the locals at the tiny interior bar.
