Great place to buy wonderful jams, just made on the premises. Very interesting and inspiring for young visitors too.
I always buy (since ages) “clémentines confites” (candied clementines): a must to please my hosts when served with sour cream. One of my favorite recipes. Try it!!!!

I’ve bought jam on almost every trip I’ve taken (and regularly bought jam from a famous Parisian supplier) but Herbin takes the cake. If you’ve ever had a culinary experience that sets the benchmark by which all others are judged then you’ll appreciate Herbin. When you taste the mandarine or passion fruit it’s like the pure essence of the fruit with only the perfect amount of sugar and natural pectin added. You’ll find out how good a jam could be. Tasting is free and encouraged by a welcoming staff. They might have five jars open out of the dozens of flavors made. Of course, buy some Menton Lemon but delve into the others like Mimosa (light and heavenly) and the savory “jams” as well. It’s all made in artisanal fashion; only two machines (fruit cutting and sealing) so it’s all pretty much made by hand including extracting seeds, cooking, etc. Herbin is a MUST visit in Menton.

The confiturerie has an enormous choice of confitures and related products. In the back (or front, depending on where you enter) you can witness the preparation of the confiture du jour. Not the cheapest but definitely worth the money.

We spent a month in Menton two years ago and are returning soon. The confiturie was terrific--you can sample most of the offerings, and there are a lot of them. The raspberry-strawberry-basil jam was my favorite. Since returning, I've bought Sarabeth's strawberry-raspberry jam, dumped it in a saucepan, added shredded basil and warmed on a low flame for 10 minutes or so. Then cooled it and returned it to the jar. It's pretty close, but I'm looking forward to getting the real thing again.

Recommended to visit if you are a person, who loves to bring some souvenirs to friends and family, but usually getting disappointed when recognize that most of them are made in China, but do not have anything in common neither with local tradition nor with the great Chinese culture :( . Even if you are not a sweet tooth, you can try some non-ordinary flavors or go for a sauce or mustard.

This is the place to taste and buy the local speciality jam, honey and compote. Blueberry, Lemon, Bitter Orange and Pomegranate all came back to England with us and we would have bought more if could have carried it on the train.

Lovely Confiturerie with secluded entrance in side alley but worth finding. You can taste most of the jams and jellies.

Jams and honeys are made and bottled here, and there is tour of the factory. The tour should take about 30 seconds. The jams are good, but a tad pricey.
