This is really special collection with some modern art mixed with a very special and ancient collection. Very helpful guide at reception. Don’t miss this there’s something for everyone.

We travelled from Nice, the part on bus from Cannes. A little tricky but definitely worth the trouble. If you go by car, this is a no-brainer, at least for those interested in antiquity. I don't the large museums can compete with the armory, the collection of helmets and breast plates is extraordinary. Not only the number and variety of objects but also how extremely well preserved they are. I can't avoid speculating how the owner got hold of them. But now they are to be found here and on display.

A very interesting museum, offering a veriety of classical art ranging from weapons to statues, to Egyptina antiquities.
It has been assembled with the mind of a tasteful collector, amusingly mixing stunning anique pieces with more modern references, A part from the obvious high quality of the pieces, the brilliant way in chich the article are sometimes mixed is highly intelligent and stimulant.
Go there for an extrordinaire experience

When I was entering this museum I definitely wasn’t expecting such an impressive collection. To be very honest, I couldn’t even imagine such a private collection could exist.

I would summarize this museum as a combination capsule of British Museum and Musée d’Orsay. Majority of the exhibits, I had seen similar ones only in state managed museums. Such a collection, such a wealth…

The museum is founded by Christian Levett, a British investment banker and collector based on his own collection. Entrance fee is a bit high but worth every penny. Don’t leave Mougins without visiting this very impressive museum

This museum is amazing! The scope of the collection is astonishing from antiquity to the present day. I loved seeing the art from different ages displayed side by side. I honestly think this is the best museum I have ever been to for quality of artefacts and diversity of the collection. Plus the setting is so intimate. You are so close to the work in a way you would never be at a larger venue where the glass display cases and velvet ropes make the art seem rather arms’ length. Plus the staff are warm and welcoming. I can’t recommend it enough. Go, go, go!

Over 4 floors, this small and creative museum leaves good impression. Not cheap for its size! But living in London we’re spoilt by free museums here, so I speak for myself.
It will be very interesting for those interested in and appreciating ancient Roman, Greek and Egyptian history.
The reason why I gave it 4 not 5 stars, because I was excited about seeing works by Chagall et al announced in the museum description.
There were a few works mixed with the ancient finds but mainly: armour, helmets, swards, coins, pottery.
Surprisingly there were some glass items that survived the time with no cracks or defects.

While it’s a small local gallery, it was filled with beautiful art and antiquities. Definitely punches above it’s weight!

The old town in Mougins is very pitoresque. This Museum is one of the most interesting things. There are also many fantastic restaurants

I only wanted to see the temporary Dufy exhibits. They were lovely, but not enough of them. We came here as a detour, just to see the Dufys, and although it's a finely put together museum (with one exquisite Warhol), I wouldn't recommend it as a destination in itself unless you have an interest in Egyptology and war archeology. If you want to make an afternoon of it however, I suspect there are a couple of nice restaurants in this picturesque and upmarket hilltop village, but we didn't have time to linger, and as we live in Italy where there is a plethora of such little medieval towns, Mougins offered nothing we haven't really seen before. Strangers to continental Europe will love it though, so by taking the surrounding town itself into consideration, I'm giving the museum four stars, whereas personally I only found it a three-star experience. Ample free parking nearby though, worth a star in itself.

Visited during a quick tour of Mougins Village. Nice art and statues, and the displays were very educational. Price was a little steep for what the museum offers, but it was lovely visit.
