Saw a lot of motor homes parked and so decided to visit this nearby village, not knowing what we would see. Drove our car in and watch a few people trek in 1.6 km by foot. Narrow road leading to this site but once your...More

After visiting the village of Gordes, we drove on to the Village des Bories to see the dry stone construction of these unique structures dating back hundreds of years. Perhaps the most memorable part of the experience was the drive down twisting, narrow lanes lined...More

I like this place. Nice to see how people have been using flat stones to build houses without cement. Irish monks seemed to have introduced this kind of building method. And it is centuries old.

Detoured here from the main road to Gordes. The drive in/out might be considered more of an adventure than the site itself. Basically a small village of dry stone laid buildings. Easy to dismantle and move by farmers/herders. Fairly interesting but not for everyone. Does...More

Don't park at the car park by the turn off, it is 2km down the lane and there is another car park there. Drive slowly it is narrow with twists but worth it. Also go early, we arrived just as it opened and there was...More

Decent english info. Good bathrooms. Water and coffee vending machines. Nice/recentish video with english subtitles, with bewildering musical accompaniment choices; i doubt Sting, Cure, and Led Zepplin granted permission for use of their songs. We enjoyed how quiet it was, especially since we like architecture,...More
