Fine Roman arch

Solid and impressive with fine carvings. It reminded me of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It's a short walk from the city centre.

An impressive structure due to its design and age. A lot of roadworks happening all around the arch on the day I visited, so not worth taking photos. Glad I saw it though. Le petit Arch d'Triumph in Orange.

The arc de Triomphe in Orange is a marvel! It's a short distance from the town center and well worth the walk! Bring your camera! It's easier to get to than what we had read. The town is widening the sidewalks of the round-about. Unfortunately, there is construction work all around the arc ( may, 2017) but its still worthwhile... More

This is good to see but currently surrounded by construction works as the roundabout it sits on is being extended. A short walk from the town centre

But a fair walk from the Roman Theatre. They are doing up the roundabout it sits on so I'm sure it will look even more splendid when complete. Amazing its lasted so long

Work is being done around this beautiful, ancient arch which can be seen as you enter Orange from the north. The traffic circle around the arch has been enlarged...the plane trees have had to be cut down because of disease....and the arch is beautiful...well worth getting out of the car and walking under an arch dating from the time of... Worth a walk or ride past. Road works on the surrounding island when we visited but nice to see on way in or out of Orange.

If you are collecting Triumphal arches, then do see, but it really isn't necessary. The park is surrounded by a traffic circle, so once in the circle you can walk all about and photograph to your heart's content. The monument had a dirty and ignored feeling. While I was there, a smoker stubbed out his cigarette on the structure while... More

Located not too far from the amphitheater is the Triumphal Arch, thought to honor those who fought in the Gallic Wars & built during the reign of Augustus. The Triumphal Arch, together with the nearby Roman Theatre of Orange is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The arch is well preserved with reliefs of the military conquests still visible. Definitely worth... More

This well preserved monumental Roman arch was built between 10-27 AD and is located on route N7 about 650 m north of the historical center of Orange. This commemorative arch, symbol of Roman glory, was built to honor veterans of the Gallic Wars and is decorated with various battle reliefs as well as having a carved coffered barrel vaulted ceiling....
