Great place to wander around

I spent 2 good hours wandering in the Panier streets. Safe, cute and with lots of art in the narrow old streets.

The panier is basically an array of little winding streets, most of which are replete with graffiti-covered buildings, and the majority of which give one the impression that they have seen better days.

We took a stroll uphill to see this old neighborhood. It is interesting to spot many road side arts either the wall paintings or the recycling trash arts. We might not see all of them, but interesting enough.

Discover Le Panier walking very slowly. Take time to see the narroww streets in Charite' area. You can follow the history of the city thanks to very good descriptions near every point of interesr.

If you ever go to Marseille, "Le Panier" is the place to go !!! Nothing special to see, except "La Vieille Charité" but it's where you'll have the perfect feeling about Marseille. Just walk around, take your time, get lost... And you'll love it.

The Panier district is great for a wander around, seeing a slightly less touristy side to Marseille. Small streets with local bars, restaurants and little shops, easy to get lost roaming around! Very close to the main tourist area of the port so easily accessible, lots of steps and hills to climb though.

Located just by the old port, this is the historic quarter of Marseille with old narrow streets and tiny shops. Definitely worth a visit.

Enjoyed a walk around the artisan craft shops and cafes- lovely way to pass a holiday morning and even buy a gift or 2.

Atmospheric area ... unchanged. Enjoy the original Marseille ... narrow streets, interesting shops, etc. So close to the old port area ... easy access for everyone. Bring your camera for the happy memories.
