This was our first stop in Marseilles off the cruise ship. The weather was perfect and it was a great place to take some nice pictures. Worth stopping by if you are in the area and not heavily populated by tourists.

Beautiful hidden gem in Marseille, you simply must walk up and see this to believe it. We hired bikes and rode up, and spent a good hour looking over this wonderful building which is a monument to water. Absolutely stunning!

The last time my wife and I visited friends in Marseille it was 2009. This was one of my favorite spots for snapping a few really good pictures. The deep blue (cloudless that day) Provence sky and the rainbow the sun made at the fountain really made some superb pictures.

The building front is spectacular, huge waterfall and ornate stonework. We ascended the steps walked over to the gardens and found a bench in the shade to eat our picnic lunch. We walked round the so called 'funny' zoo. Filled with plastic animals, very odd. But even odder were the toilets, luckily I found a disabled toilet that I could... More

We visited with 2 other couples... Enjoyed the architecture outdoors and the quick stroll through the Funny Zoo in the back. You can access the Palais from the outside for no fee. If you are interested in the art, you can buy tickets to enter the 2 museums. Both are rather small... Perfect if you want to enjoy the art... More

This marvelous attraction is not in Florence and not in Italy .. It is in Marseille .. I discovered this attraction in 2008 by hazard , when i was walking and fooling arround the streets of the city , and when I left the square of "Stalingrad" , and turn right suddenly my eyes has been attracted by a magnificent... Palais de Longchamp was worth a visit in Marseille. It was conveniently located on a Tram stop. Very beautiful fountain and building that housed the French Royalty when they were in Marseille. If you have the city pass, check out the Natural History Museum.

The façade is enourmous and imperial with the water falling through it. Plus, you have the gardens behind it, with their cone shaped trees and nice places for a rest.

The palace is amazing, there is a garden behind the palace which is a good place to relax especially good for kids. Its' okay to see the palace only from outside if you want to save time. Both metro(subway) and tram goes there, if you go by metro as you come out, search for the gate of the garden, else... More
