The area around the arch is scruffy. We crossed the road to get a closer look but couldn't go near it with the overpowering smell of pee. It really isn't worth the effort to walk to this monument, our visit there lasted less than 5...More

Arc de Triomphe ( Porte d'Aix ) is historical place and must see while visiting Marseille. You will see the arch from all sides and notice the statues of Napoleon.

Honestly, it is an arch like all others. If you are passing by, go. Otherwise, just visit something else more interesting.

An arch in the middle of a building site, can't get close enough to see this properly. No signage, even temporary. Only came across this by accident, glad we didn't make a special trip but it was nice to see.
