Great scenery walking along the raised footway attached to the walls of the gorge. Whilst we visited in September I would imagine that at other times of the year the rush of the water below would be even more spectacular. Relatively cheap €26 for the...More

The Gorges du Fier is a great experience just outside Annecy. We visited on a sunny dry day but as the website suggested we wore our walking boots. This is highly recommended as its is not just a stroll it is an adventurous walk. At...More

If you are in the area and looking for an inexpensive half day out, then consider this, unless you suffer from vertigo! Nice stroll along the gorge.

We had intended to go to Chamoix , but the logistics wouldn't allow on public transport, so we looked on Trip advisor and found this. We booked a taxi from Annecy to take us and it was Euros 30 for 4 of us. This is...More

The gorge was interesting but due to the number of people there we walked round it in a queue so I'd suggest going early or late in the day. We spent just over an hour here but came back to find our car window had...More

A lovely natural gorge with well maintained bridges. I'm not sure I would bring children under 5 (unless in a baby carrier). Not stroller friendly, and it's quite a bit of walking in tight spaces. Not overly expensive, clean bathrooms and a nice little bar...More

Incredible force of water and the gorge is narrow and the water has carved intriguing rock formations. Well worth a visit, it took about an hour to go through and back.

Can't be of much help on the subject. When I visited Gorges du Fier, I don't recall seeing any taxis around. If you are already visiting Annecy, you can enquire there. But, it'll definitely be more than a few Euros.

It is a bit complicated, but it is possible to go to the Gorges du Fier by bus. However, it should be noted that the number of buses that go there is VERY limited. There are two options : First option, take bus #1 or #6... More
