One of the best place and things to do in Grenoble. Good for kids taller than 120 cm. One can find any level of difficulty. Some equipment is needed and of course the weather must be great to enjoy the climbing

Since we had no experience at all, we took the basic course which involved Zip lining and something called Speeleobox (not sure how it's spelt, I forgot). We had a little training course and even though the trainers weren't able to speak english, with just a bit of french, we got through. It was absolutely lovely! The views when we were Zip lining were nothing but spectacular!

Unfortunately, when we crossed to the other side, there was no one to provide us with any direction or help(neither did they provide these instructions before we left). It was just the two of us, so were pretty stranded for a while. We did however manage to finish it, but that was really scary. Our Speeleobox activity was cancelled because they had another group there after which they had to close down. I do understand it, but we paid for it too! We wish that hadn't been the case.

For VF fans this urban via is to be visited for its almost moutain atmosphere, excellent design and well placed features
+ already icy/eroded places in the first section
Note: do not take your beginners student friends without prior training
Second section definitely not for beginners and loose arm muscles
Great arrival scene (with potential drinking spot at the top of cable car of course)

Climbing from the bottom in two sections to the Bastille. Need to rent safety gear and then you can climb by yourself, the advantage is that it is in Grenoble so you just walk to start point and climb upwards. Not an easy climb, better also to have gloves. You can do only the first part and from there either walk to the Bastille or walk down , or you can continue to the second climbing part. Nice view from top.
You can then either walk down or take the cable car

This climb is not for a beginner unless you have an experienced person with you. The easiest climb I think is challenging for a beginner and should not be a first climb for someone. Also it's very important to have all the gear and proper climbing shoes. There are exits to get off the climb, but these can also be very challenging since they are not well marked. I recommend you only attempt this with someone who has experience and can help you through some very difficult sections.
