Long and if you so choose, arduous hike. Bastille can be reached by walking (or running!) on pavement or by hiking stairs (and even some towers with round staircases). The view on the city and surrounding mountains is magnificent and getting better with each step up. An excellent way to spend time in Grenoble, pretty much a must see.

Take nearly 1 hour and half to clim up and down. This mountain is not so high. Suitable to go in summer. If it is dark, you can use the cable car

within walking distance to get to here from city centre. the climb can be done at a leisurely pace and is a good workout for the weekend. along the way, the view of the grenoble city is really beautiful. At the top, it was pretty crowded on this sunday with a lot of people relaxing and chilling out. weather was... More

i've been here many times with friends because the view is just beautiful! love being able to look over the entire city and out to the mountains. great during the day and in the evening for some gorgeous photo opportunities, i would recommend getting there just before sunset and sitting there as the sun goes down 🌄

We went for our wedding anniversary in the beginning of winter. It had already snowed a bit on the hills surrounding Grenoble and clouds were low. I bet the views would've been even better if the sky had been clear so I'd recommend going in summer instead. You can go in the "boule" (bubble shaped cable car) and enjoy the... More

The place is at a hill top offering you a 360 view of beautiful grenoble town. You can see the expanding city of grenoble from here and also the striking changes in old and the new city. The view in night is breathtaking from here. There is a restaurant at this place which serves good cusines. One should visit this... More

We went up to Bastille to see the might view of Grenoble city. It was really amazing and very astonishing. We drove up by car to the top and the road was so steep and narrow. But it was worth it as you can see the longest straight street in France from the top

Must do ! splendid views on Grenoble area as far as Mt Blanc on clear days 1/ several ways to go up - from walk lanes, via ferrata, cycling and cable car - driving not advised 2/ eating snacking place + museum "/ possibilities to go further and walk circuit in Chartreuse / Mt Rachai and Jalla
