We did the one hour discovery tour. A great and fun when to become orientated in the city. Our guide gave us lots of information in great English. The guides take great care to ensure you are understand how to use the Segway and to give a safe but fun experience. Would highly recommend. Our only regret is not picking a longer tour! Thank you!

Just got back from Lyon. We booked a 1 hour city tour on segways as part of my son's birthday treat. We've never done a segway tour before, and myself and the wife are not the most athletic people you've ever seen, so we were cautious (i only just made the weight limit, to give you some idea!) Anyhow, we had 10 mins breif tuition and after that you'd have thought we were born on them. They are SOOOO easy to ride, and was the most fun we had all weekend. We paid 25 euros each for an hour, which ended up being about an hour 20 mins. We took the city tour, and visited most of the sights of the city. Our guide was Anis (think that's how it was spelled) and he was very knowledgeable on the sights around the city, and also let us have fun when it was safe to do so. This was the BEST way to visit the city, so much beter than the boring open-top bus tours. I would give this a mega thumbs up to anyone wanting to give it a try. Take warm clothes when it's cold !

One of the best ways to see the city. Simple and fast - covered a lot of Lyon and places I would have missed walking.

Based on the great reviews on trip advisor, I booked this tour after emailing the provider several weeks ahead. While I had been to Lyon before, I was looking forward to the "funning" and "interesting" tour of old town Lyon and other wonderful sites. The tour guide was quite young (seemed 22 or younger) and when we arrived after a great deal of trouble parking, told me in broken english that he only spoke English a little. This was alarming since he was supposed to be showing us not just the sites but also the safety rules. Luckily, I knew how to ride a Segway already and we joined a Parisian couple here for the weekend. The tour was bizarre and hazardous going across major highway intersections to get to the "new city" which was completely unremarkable as hot dogged ahead on his segway, offered no guidance and in the first hour only pointed out the train station, the bus station, the name of the river and where a new museum was under construction. At one point, we went past unkempt construction sites, major traffic, an and abandoned homeless sleeping bag in a "shortcut" to the river. For new riders, he had us going over gritty urban terrain that was not only unappealing but challenging for our party. One of the Paris vacationers wiped out seriously during the trip. He stopped but had no way to help his wounds or symptoms. We drove a few km and he showed us a modern condo complex and seemed to point out the only other thing he knew: that a Lyon football player had a condo there. The injured man then had to stop multiple times with dizziness and nausea. None of us could get out of there soon enough. The tour operator offered to give us a free tour late in the day or the next day but we already had reservations to leave. He offered no refund of the 100 Euros.

We really enjoyed our Segway tour of Lyon.
For the very well priced 30 Euro you receive a brief lesson and some hands-on tutoring before you commence the 1 hour tour.
Our guide ensured all 8 participants were comfortable on our Segways, and off we went.
If you're after a tour with more narrative, go for a walking one or take a bus - this one is really a chance to whizz across and beside the wonderful rivers of Lyon on a Segway, taking in some of the sights as you do.
Having said that, we still stopped at a handful of locations for some brief historical information (in both French and English), and our guide was happy to answer our questions and give some local perspective.
Some Segway hire companies run theirs into the ground - not here. We rode the latest "x2" model with its knobby off-road tyres... Much fun was had by all.
We booked relatively last-minute via e-mail and were lucky to get in. I suggest you book early...
If you've not tried a Segway before, don't be put off. If you can ride a bike you can ride a Segway. And even if you can't ride a bike, you'll still be trying hard to fall off a Segway.

By far the best way to do a tour. I will look for segway tours everywhere I go from now on! I am seriously clumsy, but i managed 2 control segway really well. The young tour guide was really friendly. He told me he was learning English. He made every effort to explain everything to me in English. I loved zipping along the streets and we saw lots of the city. would definatley recommend if you fancy something a bit more exciting than a bus tour!!

I surprised my wife on a special birthday with the one hour tour, this was our first experience of Segway and I have to say we were blown away. We were met by William at the premises and felt at ease immediately, William had a wickedly French sense of humour which I warmed to, we were introduced to our fellow travellers and shown the ropes and warned of the pitfalls that could happen enroute. We were given ample time to get used to the machines beforetaking to the route around Lyon.
Unlike the person below who couldn't say anything nice about this tour, I would say if this is your first visit to Lyon the one hour tour will give a good overview of the whole city. The 'old town' is only a small part, spread your wings and go for this tour, in fact if your timre is limited I wouldadvise going for the longer tour! If you haven't done Segway before, the keyword is RELAX!

As a group of two couples, aged around the half-century mark we visited the wonderful city of Lyon. We wanted to do something special to make the very best of our time so our treat was a Segway tour with ComhiC.
I surprised myself by suggesting this because although I knew my 3 companions would love it; I also knew it would put me completely out of my comfort zone – it did – but it was a fantastic experience!!
We found the ComhiC office easily as they are located right in the old town on the river and there we met Amine.
Amine was our wonderful trainer and then our tour guide. He began by giving each of us a tutorial in a nearby square and he soon put us all completely at ease. He was very friendly and encouraging but also very professional when delivering serious messages about the safety elements of the Segway etc.
He advised us which tour he thought would be best for us and then led us through the city, keeping a good eye on us all the way round to make sure we were all ok. Amongst other places our tour took in the old town, the parks, the banks of the rivers, the Interpol building and at each stop Amine told us about the points of interest.
Being out in the parks and along the rivers was very exhilarating and negotiating the narrow city streets was great fun too.
Our tour lasted about 2.5 hours and Amine photographed us as we went around. He later sent us a link to a website where we could see our photos – so as well as our memories we have some photos too!
We all felt our tour was great value as we really got around Lyon and saw places we wouldn’t have seen on foot.
I truly was the most nervous out of the four of us but I really enjoyed the afternoon and would definitely do it again – so all thanks to Amine for his encouragement! If you feel like me then give it a go, we really did turn from scared first timers to more than competent within ten minutes of practice – just tell Amine how you feel but I reckon he’ll soon spot it anyway! I would go so far as to say – if I can do it anyone can!
My three companions absolutely adored the Segway experience and think it was one of the best things they have ever done, they just can’t wait to do it again. In fact, had we been staying in Lyon for another day they all said they would have returned to ComhiC to hire a Segway for the next day too!

Although approaching retirement age and old enough to be a grandmother I have got to tell the world just how much fun this trip is ! Just about anyone can do this as I have proved. We went as a family with 2 adults and 2 teenage boys and all loved every minute.
We were given careful individual training before setting off to view the sights. Using the segway to weave along the sidewalks and manouvre around obstacles gives you the kind of buzz you can only imagine an expert skateboarder would feel. You experience the sights and sounds of beautiful Lyon as you glide effortlessly along- and yes ! it feels cool !

This was the BEST time spent in Lyon, we were lucky to have Arthur to ourselves. Myself and a friend arrived for our 1.5 hour tour, with 30 min training. We got suited up with our helmets and had a practice run, we were both naturals immediately. Segway's are easier to maneuver especially with a patient wonderful guide. Request Arthur, by the end we were referring to him as King Arthur :-) we were off to buzz all around Lyon. We went over the bridge, past by some markets, and were brought to an open square. He told us to practice going fast to feel the way the Segway slows you down when at top speed. Plus we were asked to practice turns etc. uncertain why but we are good students so we obeyed. This was SO much fun! I felt like a kid again, at top speed(12mph) the wind going through my hair, the smell of flowers, the sun beating on us, the scenery of Lyon is gorgeous. We had just come from Paris where it never stopped raining. This was beyond a perfect day! The colorful artsy tree we past, which Arthur was a great photographer to assist. No one else was signed up for the day so it was able to be almost like a private tour. We very quickly learned why we had the practice time, our course was now becoming a bit more challenging with turns and long stretches of pavement along the river. The BEST part was when we arrived at this huge Park, can't remember the name as I type but it's the largest urban park in all of France. It was unreal!! We buzzed past a greenhouse, a zoo with a giraffe family, statues, boats in the lake, bikers, and green huge trees everywhere with beautiful flowers. This is the Central Park of France. The only way to truly experience Lyon in a short while is on a SEGWAY. If your considering it, DO IT, SIGN UP NOW,!! It will truly become your new tour you try in every new city you explore. Request our guide Arthur.....he made for a most enjoyable day......even lended me his sweater when I got cold. Thanks Again!!!

Are you like the other tour operators that stupidly require a minimum of two persons to book or do you not discriminate against solo travelers and want everyone's business even if they are alone?
