We visited Lyon as a day trip from Geneva. The museum is difficult to find from the train station as there is no signposting as monument or place of interest. The layout is interesting. The problem is that unless you speak French your only hope is to listen to very slow snippets on an ear audio. This is very time... More

We had no language problem. We had obviously heard of Klaus Barbie, but there is so much more to this place. The story of the evil that men do when they resort to stereotyping and drift into hating. This is balanced by the inspirational history of how collective action conquered wrongdoing.

I was worried about all the reviews saying if you don't speak French you can't enjoy this place. While it's beyond me why they don't have at least one or two other languages in their posters, they have a book that gets you through the first room, and watching the videos makes the rest of the permanent exhibit totally worth... A little surreal & sad imagining what happened there. Well done. Staff very accommodating. Gave us a whole booklet in English and also some recordings along the way in English. Also a 45 min. movie of the Klaus Barbie trial.

This is titled the Museum of the Resistance so it should not be solely about the atrocities Klaus Barbie committed or the building and its various uses before the war. We were handed a plastic wallet with very general info which was not tied in to the museum exhibits or the resistance so because everything else was in French most... More

The film of the trail of Klaus Barbie is a must - there are English sub titles and the reports of the survivors of the concentration camps is harrowing. However, the rest of the museum was rather disappointing for us as there were no explanations of the exhibits in English and we really would have liked to have learnt more... More

We were impressed with the amount of information available in English through audio/visual presentations. The video clips of individuals who lived through the War and were involved in the Resistance were amazing since many of them are old and are or will no longer be with us. Their memories and stories were captivating. The artifacts that have been preserved are... More

This was the number one activity I was looking forward to in Lyon and I was very disappointed. The only thing I could follow was the videos of the survivor accounts. These had language options. French speaking visitors had audio devices, but none in English. All the display descriptions were only in French. I had no idea what we were... More

Very interesting exhibits . Lots to see and take in . Fascinating for anyone interested in World War Two history and the role of thr French resistance . Lyon was the headquarters of this organization so very fitting the museum is placed in Lyon.

Absolutely inspirational and fascinating. Beautifully done museum with multi-media throughout. Nicely designed and easy to follow. English translation in a folder is available and all the videos are in English. Allow at least three hours to get the full experience. Easy to reach on the T2. Use the City Pass here. I don't recommend it for children under 10-12.
