The terrifying history of the Nazi occupation of France, as well as the treacherous actions of the Vichy government is detailed extremely well. Additionally, the courageous actions of the Resistance is explained. I didn't realize just how organized the Resistance was and how these volunteer...More

I highly recommend a visit to this museum. It is done so tastefully and emotionally charged. The film interviews in French and or English bring the situation alive. The men and women (many women) who risked everything including their lives and the lives of those...More

This museum provides great insight to the lives of those that fought in the background against the Nazi and Vichy regimes. The audio guide is required if you want to truly explore the museum in depth. Their are additional items to listen to and view...More

Although the topic is well documented the museum is very interesting and well worth a visit, make sure to take the headset for the full experience and watch the Barbie trial, though it is heart rendering.

Holocaust museums are not easy. Nor is it easy to confront the Vichy regime' complicity in the deportations and genocide. But this museum does a good job of telling the story, while also teaching of the brave men and women who resisted (and often died)....More

A visit here should be compulsory for all. A very well presented and thought out museum showing the horrors perpetrated during the Second World War. Whilst we visited there was an exhibition showing excerpts from the trial of the Nazi war criminal Klaus Barbie during...More

Dear 46nim2016 Sorry, I've only just noticed your question now! I believe the museum was opened in 1992.
