5 minute walk from hotel Fourviere is beautifully cared for with a wonderful stage and sound! Jazz concert the night we visited with internationally recognized artists. The museum on the premises looks great but was closed when we visited. Free entry to ruins. Brilliant

A few minutes down from the basilica you'll find the roman theatre. It is free, unless you want to visit the museum. The stairs are in good condition and the signs explain a lot of fun stuff. It's great to eat on top of the...More

Very nicely conserved ruins of two Gaul amphitheatres. Try to catch a concert or a stage play there when visiting Lyon. During le Fête des Lumières there will probably be one of the best light shows of the festival.

The ruins were great, very relaxed as you just wander around. They are obviously extensively used for plays and music which is good to see. Not a huge amount of information but in all honesty, it's pretty self explanatory.

Well preserved ruins from Roman Gaul which present the start of stunning views, which improve as you exit and climb further above Theatres, of Lyon laid out below. The climb up to the ruins from the river, although rewarding when completed, will certainly be considered...More

Yes, it looks stunning in the photos but if - like me - you want to see original ruins as opposed to Disney-style reconstructions, then give this a miss. I do agree that it has been reconstructed in a faithful manner and, of course, it...More
