We walked over around 11am Sunday and gathered up our food for a picnic. Unbelievable range of produce available and plenty of sellers had samples to try. If you don't speak French just try a greeting the steelers with a bonjour and asking in French if they speak English. My experience with the sellers was great ....they all weighed items... More

I went because I had read good reviews of the place. Who wrote these good reviews? Stall holders? I went on a Wednesday morning. There were about 20 stalls. A few tourists were wandering up and down, looking not buying. There was nothing you couldn't buy in Carrefour Part Dieu. It was a 'gourmand' market. 'Gourmand' is a special french... More

My family and I stumbled upon this market after having a HORRIBLE dining experience at Le Grand Cafe Des Negociants. The ONLY thing that upset me about this market was the fact that I found it after spending 50 Euros on a breakfast for four. All the stalls are set up along both sides of the path on the east... We don't see markets like this in New England. Even Boston's North End and the public market can't compare. And the canelles!

Even on a rainy Sunday, we ventured out here to partake on Poulet Roti. We bought half a chicken and an order of potatoes. We walked around for a bit more. We wished we could take home all the fresh fruits and veggies we saw. A lot of varieties of Oysters, cheese and charcuterie. We love it!

Wonderful. When just passing through on holiday, I always have mixed feelings visiting a glorious fresh food market like this, as I want to buy so much but I know that I realistically cannot! I end up salivating and looking at the shoppers with great envy. We visited on a glorious Sunday morning, and it was such a pleasure to... More

There was a great assortment of fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, breads and flowers. We bought some great provisions for our stay in Lyon.

I went on a Sunday, and the market was quite busy. If you like oysters and shrimps, you can treat yourself. You can have one dozen oysters for only 14 Euros; add a dozen of nice sized shrimps (not those tiny ones), and it costs 20 Euros. A real bargain. And you can eat them in the café next to... More

You can find fantastic fresh vegetables, nicely prepared meat, and great atmosphere! Also, a location by the water is very nice.
