Me and the missus are over on holiday from down under, bit of a hard time gettin around all these foreign pubs but that's the point of travelling ya know?

Anyway cobba here we are just wandering the town when we come across an Australian flag! You ripper! We go and check the place out, "The Authentic Australian Bar Experience" they reckon.

Mate they've got a few roo's loose in the top paddock.

The only Australian thing was the flag at the door, all European beers, only French music playing. Mate it's like if I opened a bar called Mt Fuji in Ulladulla, talked it up as "The Authentic Japanese Bar Experience" then had nothing but VB and Toohey's on tap, with Cold Chisel on repeat and Crocodile Dundee fixing a VN Commodore on the dance floor.

That Budweiser ain't bad though

.... was falling down the stairs. If you're looking for a night out on one of these boats the one directly adjacent is much better, despite a smaller outside area the music is better, the dance floor bigger and the drinks cheaper.

I had a terrible experience at Ayers Boat in Lyon. I was looking for a good night out with my friends an all I found was distress. Besides the club being packed with people - visibly way more than should be on board - the staff obviously cold not handle the amount of people there. It was hard to get a drink, even harder to dance. Perhaps what was more appauling about Ayers Boat was that the security had absolutely no respect with the customers, talking to me and my friends with the uttermost rudeness, even morally harressing me (one security guy actually called me '[--] stupid'). I don't recommend Ayers Boat to no one, especially when Lyon is such an amazing city and has better options for a night out.

Visited Ayers Rock late at night for the club that opens with a few friends. It was frankly an embarrassing night; the music they played was awful; not cheesey, remotely danceable or even vaguely good; just terrible infantile dub mixes of pop songs from several years ago, and some Eminem, which was entertaining only insofar as we got to watch an array of white Frenchmen rap whilst not knowing any of the lyrics. The dance-floor, or more appropriately 'dance-stairs' as it is an area around three meters squared with steep stairs coming down on both sides (a total deathtrap for anyone who is, as one might expect in a club, drunk) has literally no ambiance or mood whatsoever, everyone was simply shuffling around, pushing and struggling to find a little space in order to perform the side-to-side wiggle of someone who is uncomfortable dancing. Imagine a shoegaze gig crossbred with a mosh pit where everyone has been tranquilised to gain a picture of the scene. To use an Australian metaphor, I felt like a coral on the Great Barrier reef, disinterestedly pawing at my neighbouring corals to establish some room and sunlight - I have been to pushy nightclubs before and don't mind a bit of tussling, but this was simply ceaseless.

Drinks were expensive, but competitive for this city. Anyone who is not used to slumming it might be slightly put out to be handed an actual can of larger, lukewarm, rather than a glass.Entry too seemed pricey and there was a lengthy queue to get in, a lengthy queue for the toilet and a lengthy queue for the smoking area.

You'd be happier just drinking outside by the river.

We were a group of 4 that decided to go on the sylvester night to this bar/night club.
We came from Switzerland for the weekend and for new year's eve in Lyon, at the end of december 2018.
The security night in that specific night looked at the group and asked how many we were to come in. We said we were 4. He said he couldn't let us get in. We tryied to know why and he didn't want to explain himself.
Thanks a lot for destroying our expectations about the bar! He was rude and arrogant.
Maybe it's time to change your security guard so you don't lose clients. We saw that happen with a group of guys before us but we didn't think that would happen to us in the sylvester night. Do you imagine that?
We stayed in a positive mood and we searched for another party. But i would never think that could happen to me...
I think it's time to choose some professionnal stuff to your bar/night club.

We had such fun here! Yes the bar is small but it makes for a great atmosphere. Not an “authentic” experience but this didn’t bother us at all!

This is an embarrassment as an Australian. If French people like the nice river view then fine but the menu and drinks are reminiscent of an alternative history where France colonised Australia. The tap beers are French or Belgian. The toilet doors are swinging saloon type. It would be fine if it didn't call itself the authentic Australian experience.

NOTHING AUSTRALIAN about this bar!! No Australian food, beer, wine. Nothing, not even music! The waitress was French (fair enough, we’re in France) but when she spoke English she sounded more east end than ‘Coronation Street’, (bizarre). Drinks are relatively cheap. But DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING LIKE AN AUTHENTIC AUSTRALIAN EXPERIENCE. Come to Oz. 😉

Aussie bar with relatively low cost drinks, essentially beers you pick up and bring with you on the dock.
Very crowdy by students and a lot of boys and girls

Outragious behaviour by the security man who pushed me out of the public bench in front of the pub and shout out to me that I should move away only because I was waiting for my friend to go out, this behaviour shouldn t be allowed by people that are supposed to protect the clients of the pub
