Absolutely go here when you're in Baden Baden. The 360 degree views are amazing. There's several hiking paths as well.

We took the funicular up and walked down. The views from the top are great. Enjoyed the walk down. It was easy and took about 45 mins. It was a hot day but the trees shaded the path most of the way down.

We had a few hours before sunset and decided to visit the mountain. The Merkur Funicular Railway was as exciting as the view. We had dinner and watched the sunset. Diner was nothing to brag about but the sunset was amazing.

if the weather is good take the time to take the funicular to the top of the "house" mountsin from Baden-Baden ... you will see a fantastic 360° view from the top of the little tower. See how close France is !

Love the awesome view from the top but could get pretty cold and windy. Could either hike up or take the Merkur Funicular Railway. Either way is awesome and worth the time. There is a cafe at the top that serves pretty authentic local food....More

I wanted to walk the mercur mountain from the base. How much time does it take to climb the mercur mountain. If i choose to walk from the city centre then how much time will it take to reach the base of the mountain. Thanks

I would say about 1 hour and 30 minutes and just looked at Google maps and it thinks about the same. It's well sign posted so easy to find.
