Although modern the building fits well into Freiburg. While distinctive it mirror the old town. Because it is open all hours this is a great place for students to gather and work, chat or just think. Definitely a plus for the university.

A really beautiful place. Externally the facade is wonderful. It is a modern style but suits with the city. It is possible to see the "old" buildings reflected in it. Internally it is a very nice environment with a lot of students and all apparatus...More

This building is merely meant for students. From the inside, it's a (for tourists) totally uninteresting building. One could go for some books - but why would you? However, if you like modern architecture and / or reading (while visiting a beautiful city) it might...More

The new university library looks like a shiny coal-black rhomboid dropped by a passing planet. Inside, a miracle of light and open space. Surely controversial as it faces a very traditional university building, it's refreshingly modern & well worth a visit.

Interesting construction with glass panels. Close to some main attractions. It is a university library frequented by students and faculty.

I admit, I am a bibliophile and love libaries. Sadly, this Darth Vader inspired construction does not inspire a desire to stay and study. It has the charm of an industrial warehouse and not a smidgen of that reverence which one encounters at other such...More

I respect impressive modern facilities, but that isn't really what I look for. This was an interesting building to see, but wasn't worth much more than a look to me.

It is a beautiful and impressive building and it was so interesting to see how they use these buildings in modern day time.
