We went through with our two teenage children. It was really interesting and lots of things to see, but a bit disappointing that you had to pay extra if you wanted to see certain displays actually work.

The Black Forest Museum is located in Triberg at about 100 meter walking distance from the famous Triberger Waterfall. The museum is small in size but very well packed with interesting items. I recommend visiting the museum after visiting the Waterfall. We bought the Combi-ticket for Euro 9 to visit both attractions.

After coming out of the waterfall by a back way, we were right at the museum. Our KONUS card got us a small discount. Exhibits on straw item manufacturing (baskets, etc.), clothing, mechanical musical instruments, and of course, clocks. There was also a nice mineral display which is viewed by going into a little ‘mine’. We used the very clean... More

From the outside it doesn't look like much. Co-located with the visitors center, it is easy to find. Once inside you will find room after room of interesting displays. There are clocks, musical machines, and a lot more. Worth the visit.

The Black Forest Museum (Schwarzwaldmuseum) in Triberg is very interesting. You are able to see examples of the culture going back hundreds of years. Cuckoo Clocks, glass blowing, straw weaving and musical instruments and the making of them are all on display. It was fascinating and well worth the very low cost of admission.

We really loved this museum. If you are a history buff this is a must. Not only does it give you history on the city, but it shows you a look back at the culture of the area. There is also a part that gives history of the clocks as well. It was really informative and interesting. There is all... More

Many items about the history of the Black Forest, including clock making, straw braiding, glass making, wood carving. Very informative, and relatively inexpensive. Discount if you are staying at a hotel in Triberg. I especially like the section on the development of orchestration (think player pianos, but with multiple instruments).

Across from the Water Falls and all those clock shops. Same area as the main parking lot. It has something interesting for everyone in the family.
