I went to see the castle on Nov. 11th, 2018 when there were 8 castles with free entrance in Baden-Württemberg. My daughter (6) went with me. I took lots of photos of the exhibits. Even though, the castle is huge, it didn´t take all day...More

The Schloss Mannheim is huge ! It is now the University of Mannheim but originally it was built to ''compete'' with Versailles . Unfortunately , I went there on a Monday and there are no visits on that day ! Next time !

The palace is really worth a visit if you are nearby. If not, maybe you should consider that in spite of being an enormous example of the barroc, there's not much visitable area. Even with the exhibitions, I took no more than 40 minutes

Impressive view offers the Mannheim Baroque Palace. In 1720 Price Elector Car Philipp transferred the palatinate's seat of power from Heldelberg to Mannheim. It has magnificent interiors.

a nice thing to know --> in in medieval Germany practicaly every bigger city was "competing" who will have a better looking castle/palace/fortress etc. that's why there's so many of them in Germany. this one is nice, although the one in Heidelberg seems more impressive

There is much to see but having the audio guide makes the visit ten times more informative. The options re: level of detail are helpful. Staff at reception were remarkably unfriendly.

Beautiful palace and well maintained. The audio tour (included in the price of admission). Each section has a "short" narrative and subsequent subsections...if you wish to listen to them...you can pick and choose too. The (short) tour last 80 minutes, but the full tour lasts...More
