Wonderful modern art gallery - easily accessible by lift and allowing us to seamlessly move between the old and new building. The exhibits are varied and interesting. I particularly liked the items whose origins were either disputed or taken from Jewish residents by the Nazis....More

The Kunsthalle in Mannheim has just opened its long-awaited modern wing, attached to the old Jugendstil building and thus giving the institution a vastly enhanced space for displaying its holdings. It's an interesting place but, to me at least, not enormously satisfying. One basic problem...More

Visited during construction of their new wing, and was privy only to their core collection. Impressive selection of Impressionist as well as modernist art, and there was an interesting temporary exhibit by the lesser known but prolific Czech artist, Pravoslav Sovak.

I made countless visits to the Kunsthalle. At the moment they are limited with space because they're building an annex. The historic building will be renovated soon. But even with this limitatons the displayed art is very good.

The Museum was good but it is under construction until December 2017. I was disappointed that some of the sculptures are not visible because of it.

This Art Deco building is today too small for the huge collection of the museum. They build a new wing to the museum, and today you can visit and see the most important paintings of the collection.

Unfortunately this place is under construction right now. Nevertheless you can see a limited exhibition. It is doubtful whether the new modern part of the museum will fit the surrounding area (Wasserturm and the entire Jugendstil-complex)... actually very sad to "ruin" this picturesque area.

Worth spending an hour or two , very close to the city center and immediately by the water tower " Wassertrum ". A ticket is 9€ per adult. Most of the paintings are modern 1800 onwards , and many were from private collections. There is...More

Kunsthalle Mannheim has paintings by Bacon, Manet, Cézanne, van Gogh, Liebermann and Slevogt. It is a pleasant museum with lockers for backpacks next to the toilets in the basement. Temporary exhibits do not permit photography, but within the permanent collection the use of cameras without...More

The new Kunsthalle is an example of egocentric view of culture exhibit. A man wants to leave his mark on the city, a woman wants her name on the walls forever. And money cleans everything away. Let's see if they will respect the promises.
