We visited the Zugspitze on a clear sunny day in January. We caught the train from Garmisch Partenkirchen to Eibsee where we got the brand new seilbahn to the top of the mountain. There were a lot of people queueing but within 20 mins we...More

I visited the place with my family, and even my 6 year old daughter was impressed by the view. The new car lift is fast and get you to the top in about 10 minutes, time to enjoy nice views of the mountain and surroundings.

We just came off the mountain after an extremely disappointing and frustrating day. The cable car is functioning, but the station at the top is incomplete. There are signs leading you up to an observation deck that is strewn with tools, floored with plywood, and...More

I've been up top a couple of times once by myself (April 2014) and once with my family (April 2015). I'm not really a skier. Even if you don't ski it's well worth taking the train ride up. It's drop-dead gorgeous. There is also good...More

We drove and took the train which was pretty easy to find. Views were stunning, there are a number of cafes which serve very good food. If you have time this is a must try.

Not the longest runs in Europe but the snow is perfect and views are incredible. The new gondola is comfortable and fast. The ski area is also very wide and open so you never feel closed in.

We took the train and then the cable car up to the top. There were views of the mountains and forest in the way there, and there was an opportunity to stop and take pictures. The cable car ride was short and also offered amazing...More

We took the train from Munich, then the new cable car (the Zugspitze Seilbahn) up the mountain, early in the New Year. We were blessed with clear blue skies and would rate this as an exceptional experience. Simply stunning views from the top, and we...More

We took the train from Garmisch. By going this way, you can figure at least two hours to get up to the mountain, if you go by the Cog train. Trains descend each half hour to each hour. So you can stay up there as long as... More
