As soon as we walked through the door, people were smiling and helpful getting my son outfitted for his snowboarding class. Very organized and speedy. There wasn't much snow, but it was very pretty and well organized, and much less of a wait than zugspitze!

We have skied Garmisch for years and we have learned a LOT during that time. First the area is wonderful. We love it and have returned time and again even though there are many other options available to us. The mountain offers a variety of slopes for every ability level. There are great restaurants all over the mountain, which is... More

The hill is well known as a historic resort in the German Alps. Unfortunately, the hill is crowded and the gondola infrastructure is not designed to adequately handle the load. When you get off the gondola, there is a 20 person wide queue to get on a six-pack lift to a higher elevation. You will have to do this several... More

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a small town surrounded by mountains. Its picturesque setting draws hundreds of thousands of tourists and ski aficionados every year which, at times, gets a little unnerving. There is a small pedestrian zone in both parts of the town; otherwise roads are narrow and congested so that cyclists have taken to use pedestrian sidewalks instead of the road.... More

Good place for a visit in the summer with accessible mountains and good walking or hiking, even climbing for those more adventurous. Nice old town in Garmisch with Partenkirchen being more modern with nice shopping area. Good transport links to allow for visits to other places in the area.
