Spectacular place with frozen waterfalls in the winter and so much to see beyond the gorge. Be prepared for a long walk though! A gorge is formed through a process of vertical and horizontal erosion as a waterfall recedes back up a river valley -...More

This is a very popular destination that is well worth the time invested. On hot summer days a crowd can make the numerous narrow (and dark) tunnels more ordeal than pleasure. The rocks are real, unforgiving, and for seniors and those less nimble a few...More

Walked from the train station and it didn't take long. The price was €4 to enter and it was worth every cent! The only recommendation I would give is to make sure you've got some light ( mobile or torch), since some parts can be...More

We went to the Gorge today and absolutely loved it! It was a lot of walking, but so beautiful and fun. My kids all enjoyed it, but they were tired by the time we were done, so we took the cable car down. The cable...More

On a whim we decided to go hike through the Gorge. We took the Eckbauerbahn tram, which is from the 50's and a thrill in itself, up to the top of the mountain. From there there is a well maintained trail that cascades down the...More

We enjoyed very much the Partnachklamm just outside Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You start from the Olympic ski jump stadium where you have to leave your car. From there onwards you walk 20 mins to the entrance or alternatively you can use the horse carriages to take you...More

It took us around 2 hours to walk both ways, but we took a lot of pictures!!! The weather was warm, around +5 centigrade on Christmas so the ice was melting, but it was really beutiful with the "rain".

We went in the winter and all the waterfalls were almost frozen. It was absolutely stunning. We did a big long walk out of the other side of the gorge to get some great views. In the summer you can go up above the gorge...More

I've been to Garmisch many times, but this is the first visit to Partnachklamm. It is easy walking, but farther than you'd think. Amazing how it goes on and on. Dress warmly, shoes with good grips and a something waterproof.

This gorge is accessible to almost everyone, as it is almost flat; but be aware that you do have to walk for a bit. Also, waterproof and warm clothes are recommended. Shoes with a good grip are also nice to have, even though snickers should...More

Not recommended - both have a lot of walking and are over an hour apart. Unless you are an alpine speed walker I don't think it would be an enjoyable day - if you had to do one or the other I would do the castles - there... More
Hi. I have limited mobility and would like to know about walking the Klamm. About how long does it take and how far is it to the waterfalls from where the horse drawn carraige drops you off? I would really like to walk it if at all possible. Thanks.

Horse drawn carriage will get you very close to the falls. Limited Mobility? The walk into the falls is very close and cramped. Good luck.
