I was on a trip to Germany with my college-aged children, and I wanted to make sure we were able to spend some time at one of the larger castles. I picked Coburg, as the reviews spoke highly about the armor display in particular. This...More

Looming large above the town of Coburg and it's environs, Veste Coburg is a really well preserved castle that ably demonstrates the evolution of a fortification from early medieval times right through to the 30 Years War. When we visited there was also an extensive...More

Very nice castle in a very nice town. If you are in the area it is definitely a must. For 12€ you can visit the castle and its collections. The weapons and carriages collection is specially interesting.

We did not expect too much - but the castle along with the State exhibit exceeded our expectations. A very memorable visit and tour which I highly recommend.

Walking through a forest the mighty Veste Coburg emerges. This spectacular building feels nestled in its surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff with a very well thought of curated museum with english descriptions for each piece. A must

The history is so enriching! A definite MUST! Coburg has so many stories that I recommend the walking city tour. It is €6 and you learn a lot. Also great for teens.

Beautifully set on top of the hill. There is a bus but if you can approach from the castle grounds should do and it will give you a real sense of why no one ever successfully attacked it. The exhibition and round tour of the...More
