Although it's called "The German Museum" it is really a science and technology museum, with a focus on German scientific and technological ingenuity, although other cultures and countries are also represented. We visited the museum on a Sunday. Expect a lot of families and kids on that day. But the halls are very large and roomy, so you don't get the... More

Sadly, many of the sections we had wanted to see were closed such as Space and Motors. We booked on line, not getting any response from the museum when we had sent emails asking about tours, exhibits, etc. To be fair, what we did see was generally very good but about one half of the exhibit areas are closed for renovation which... Incredible collection spanning hundreds of years. Those who do not speak German may not get as much out of it because most placards are not multilingual

Some parts of the museum are under the construction. Check what you are interested about, before planning to visit there.

In fairness the buildings are undergoing a MUCH needed renovation. Some of the displays are fascinating, and there should be something to appeal to everyone's interests. If you are really interested in technology and science this place should be a hit. Halls included maritime, aeronautics, power, glass, paper, space. They have some truly remarkable exhibits but the place really needs... More

This museum is great for everyone but especially students and engineers. There are so many interesting pieces. Interactive displays could be very helpful for students learning. You should plan a good chunk of time for it as 2 hours for us was just enough to run through most of the exposition.

We can see in the museum the importance of the German technology! Machines, tools, shipping, robotics, tunnelling, aeronotics, hydraulic, mining,nano-technology,biotechnology,optics,chemistry and physics instruments, astronautics, geodesy, computers, food technology, chronometry, planetareum, etc, etc! It is a real miracle!
