Typical town hall similar to the ones we find in many places across Europe. There is a clock that has a puppet show once an hour, but it was not working on the day we visited. There is a restaurant inside and a lift to reach the upper floors for a better view(payable)

Don't be fooled by the name, it's still a very old building. The most famous feature is the Glockenspiel which pits on a 15 minute show at 11 & 12 (and at 5 in Spring summer). It's worth seeing once. This is a beautiful building. The clock has a wonderful glockenspiel with moving figures. You can see this at 11am, midday and at 5pm in spring/summer.

The New City Hall sits on Marien Platz across from the statue of the Virgin Mary and is an impressive neo-Gothic building built starting in 1867. It has the famous Glockenspiel mechanical clock that performs during the day.

The good things are the old buildings, of which this is a prime example, while the bad things are the multitude of drunks, beggars, shady characters and buildings with ugly architecture. So when I found this building I sat and looked at for awhile. It's so beautiful and full of wonderful... More

Plaza is very beautiful, but Rathaus itself, nothing special. 150 years old, better visit Old Rathaus, not far away.

It's good to have a lot of photos with friends here. And I went to the top of st. Peter church to watch the show at 5pm. It was amazing.
