This church is easy to walk by and not even know it. The baroque style church is a little paradise of art and architecture. I've never seen a church with so much detail architecturally and can only imagine the stories behind it.

Great little baroque church. The visitors can access just at the entrance, but there is a sufficient view of the church.

One of the most beautiful churches I have been to. The architecture is absolutely breath-taking. The art, the intimate details... So very unrealisticly accurate and mesmerizing.

On a street mainly populated by the usual chain stores you come across this absolute gem of a place. The visit here was one of the highlights of our visit to Munich. To say that it is ornate is an understatement but it manages to be ornate without being over the top. It is a real feast for the eye... More

St. Johann Nepomuk, better known as the Asam Church (German: Asamkirche), is a Baroque church with an absolutely magnificent internal decoration. This is a must see when in Munich

This was the first thing we visited in Munich and the best, I think, of all churches there. So richly decorated you will struggle to find an unadorned surface. Just sit and look for a while and pick your favourite piece of craftsmanship. Mine was the rich cloth draped over the balcony, which was, in fact, carved and not cloth... More

An awe inspiring structure with history galore inside. Renovations ongoing with the age which is normal.. not advisable for cameras with flash!

The church is on a main shopping street. You can't miss it! It's weird architecture is evident as soon as you see it. Step inside. The calm of the church descended, but its like entering a film set - think Phantom of the Opera. Stunning but odd. Disturbing but beautiful. It's a short but inspiring visit. Well worth the trip!

This church is one of the highlights of Munich. It so special because it is different. In combination with the old guy at the door you almost get a creepy feeling in this church. I am very happy that I visited this church. Definitely a recommendation!

After all the palaces, the castles, the cathedrals, I'm full up with the Baroque, the Rococo, the over decoration of all surfaces, even the decor on the wall's surface needs some decor....ENOUGH! I need a trip to Japan. A single orchid in a single vase on a single table perfectly set in an otherwise empty room with a brook babbling... More
