It was a lovely sunny days and these markets were a hive of energy. Lots of stalls selling fresh food, flowers, even beer so it was a very pleasant time. No need to look for cafes or ice cream stores as they are in abundance.

Fun place to walk around and get fresh fruits and vegetables. There are lots of restaurants and ice cream stores surrounding the square where you can sit outside and watch all the goings on.

This open air marketplace is where you will find lots of carts with lots to sell. Stroll around and look for bargains. Go into the Frauenkirche or get your questions answered in the information center. Lots of eating choices and shopping around the edges.

We had no planned excursions in Nurnberg but happened upon a large street fair at the market complete with a classic band. The area was packed with folks celebrating a Sunday (they don't need a reason to get together - just want to celebrate life)...More

This market is located in the heart of the old city center and is a good place for getting fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables at good cost. It bristles with activity during the day and is a pleasure to shop here.

Every German town has a market but this is one of the best. Markets are not tourist traps but real markets where locals shop and eat. Fun morning or afternoon and great food

Hi, I will be in Nuremberg on Sunday, 4th Sep 2017 and will be staying at the Adina Apartment Hotel. Will the Hauptmarkt stalls/shops be open on Sundays? If they are all closed on Sundays than where would be the best place to shop and sightsee at the same time?

Hello when we visited only some stalls were open on the Sunday. Mainly craft stalls. Only a few. Saturday is the main day. You could contact tourist information because there are different events on during the year.

As others have written, it is right in the middle of the city. Its in a square at the foot of the hill with the castle on top of it.
