Unfortunately the castle was closed, due to our late arrival. But we still could walk up and we did have a great view of Nürnberg. Next time we want to go up the Sintwell-Tower to have an even greater view.

This is a free location to visit, but the views are worth any bit of effort. There are beautiful views both to the north and south. This is the location on all the postcards, so why wouldn't you want to visit it while you are nearby.

This was recommended in my rough guide. Pretty easy to find and a walk through town from the station. Great views of the city and the historical buildings. There seemed to be free wifi up there for pictures. Really enjoyed it

From a prominent hill in the old city, this castle from roughly 1000 years ago is an absolute MUST! See the 44 meter deep well, can't imagine the poor souls working to dig this puppy. If you do one thing in Nurnberg... this is IT!

We really enjoyed the castle and the exhibits inside but the gardens were my favorite. So if you go at the right time of year don't pass it up

Interesting place, but it was heavily destroyed during the war, so it is basically a replica. Head over to the churches nearby and check ot the Gothic architecture instead.

While the castle has some original elements, it suffered from neglect and war damage and does not offer original interiors (except for the chapel and one or two rooms). It is however exceptionally well restored and it provides great explanation on the history of the castle, the city and the Holy Roman Empire. Nice collection of armory and stunning views... More

I always like castles and old time buildings. This Castle is a must see in Nurnberg! It is totally renovated and has a nice panoramic view to the whole city. Better go a sunny day for more pleasure! :)

The castle is physically interesting; the well developed media displays are intelligently presented and give clear, detailed historical information.

The castle is at the top of a hill which gives it great viewpoints over the city. There are different ways of getting up to the castle, it is worth going the bridge way around that back if you do not want to tackle the steep climb to the main gate at the front. The castle gardens (which we actually... More
