We visited this city as a part of our Viking River cruise. I greatly enjoyed the charm of this city and her people. The cathedral was massive and so very gothic. It was a joy to the eyes. The stain glass windows were very beautiful as well. We greatly enjoyed the shopping. A very good selection of genuine German craftsmanship.

This is another absolutely gorgeous cathedral in the baroque style in Passau, The light is great for photography and it is permitted. The Christmas market out front is very nice and similar to many others in Germany and Austria.

My husband and I visited in December. The church is spectacularly beautiful and immense. We were very disappointed, however, to find that the organ concert hours change during Advent. We had planned on attending the Thursday night concert but realized we misread the on-line performance schedule. The St. Stephens Cathedral has the largest pipe organ in Europe, and the largest... Reminiscent of the Cistine Chapel, the ceiling frescoes are stunning, as are all other details of this church, which is very bright.

To see the church took time, It was very impressive, and there was so much to see inside this church. It was a rather amazing experience. Would have liked to spent more time there and learned more about the art.

I've seen churches all over the place, but this one really stands out. Biggest pipe organ of all time. Beautiful art and architecture. Take-your-breath-away detail.

The cathedral is magnificent both interior and exterior. The organ has over 17,000 pipes - incredible sound. Organ concerts are not held on Sundays or from November to April. We missed the concert schedule but we were lucky enough to hear the organ playing - perfect timing. It is allowed to take pictures.

Even though the exterior is already gorgeous, very clean and neat, typical Bavarian; you'll be stunned by the interior which is 100% sculpted, with huge paintings in between. The organ, which is the world's biggest, is clearly not that impressive though. I saw bigger ones, but I guess they haven't that many pipes.

This cathedral is very beautiful. And, if you go at the right time, the organist will be playing the amazing organ. And you can take pictures.

This baroque cathedral is a must see in Passau for a couple of reasons. It dates to the 17th century but only small portions of the original cathedral remain. However, the Baroque interior and exterior architecture is stunning. The two bell towers rise above the city and are quite distinctive. While the interior dome and chancel are spectacular, the organ... More
